When southern Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana decided to add Saint-Barthélemy to their list of boutiques, they choose a location in a prominent new building on Rue de la Republique near the quai of Gustavia.
The white calypso coral stone cladding for the interior walls was imported from the Dominican Republic and the various marble floor inlays from Italy. Display niches include brass shelving and green vellum accents from Italy. The grand staircase also provides a unique design focal point with its blue vellum handrail and was prefabricated by millwork artists in Italy before shipment and re-assembly in Saint-Barthélemy.
